Another wonderful example of strings of Ernesto and Guilherme interacting with the incredible vocal of Liga Liberatori and the amazing trombone of Davide Piersanti. Clealy, Lisbon is meeting Italia here, in Berlin, mastered by Carlos Santos. They play 12 short/medium length songs, very touching and absorbing. The highlight of this music is indeed the synergy between human voice, hard to recognize trombone and viola and cello. It sounds like XXI century opera or something similar, maybe even anticipating XXII century? My favorites are the opening "Preparazione in Campo Aperto" and the truly sad and melancholic "Elegia". Another very impressive track is the over 7 minutes long "Nuphar Lutea". Maciej Lewenstein 

Pozostajemy w majowych okolicznościach przyrody roku ubiegłego, także miejsce spotkania nie ulega zmianie. Kolejny kwartet, to: Ligia Liberatori – głos, Ernesto Rodrigues – altówka, Guilherme Rodrigues – wiolonczela oraz Davide Piersanti – puzon. Tym razem improwizacja ułożona została w dwanaście odcinków, które trwają ponad 52 minuty.
Włosko-portugalski ansambl postanowił nas permanentnie zaskakiwać! I tak, po prawdzie, dzieje się w każdej z dwunastu improwizacji. Intrygujący, kobiecy głos o tysiącu twarzy, który szepce, śpiewa, rży, burczy i skomle, zdaje się dysponować gamą możliwości nie mniejszą niż mistrz gatunku Phil Minton. Raz za razem wchodzi on w konstruktywne dialogi i równie piękne, wzajemne imitacje z puzonem, posadowionym na przeciwległym krańcu narracji. Portugalskie struny pracują tu w swoim trybie – plenią miliony drobnych fraz i układają je w jakże efektowną całość. Nastrój improwizacji bywa mroczny, ale też często szczerzy zęby i figlarnie dygocze na lekkim wietrze. W drugiej części Ligia sięga po niemal operowe frazy, ale bystrze mutowane jej kreatywnością, a całość sprawia wrażenie swobodnej kameralistyki uprawianej na sporym rauszu! Trzecia część pachnie wręcz neofolkiem, budowana w dużej mierze stosunkowo płynnymi frazami wiolonczeli i puzonu. Muzycy na każdym kroku nie szczędzą nam preparacji, ale w pierwszej fazie albumu technikę maltretowania instrumentów stosują jedynie w sytuacjach uzasadnionych dramaturgicznie, choćby w czwartej improwizacji.
Piąta i szósta część zaskakuje jeszcze bardziej. Najpierw niemal post-klasyczne frazy - zmysłowa, barokowa serenada głosu i altówki, pięknie kontrapunktowana puzonem i kolejnymi mintonówkami. W następnych, coraz bardziej intrygujących opowieściach muzycy częściej sięgają po dronowe pasaże i całe plejady preparowanych dźwięków. Ósma część, to prawdziwa huśtawka nastrojów, od dołu do samej góry i z powrotem, a wszystko w całkiem niezłym tempie! Z kolei dziewiąta budowana jest nie tyle z drobnych fraz, co po prawdzie z dźwiękowych strzępów. Figlarna zabawa w pytania i odpowiedzi kreowana tu jest dysonansem kameralnych westchnień i wręcz post-industrialnych tarć. Dziesiąta opowieść trwa najdłużej. Też budują ją kontrasty, zmiany kierunku narracji i dramaturgicznie niuanse, zaś szczególnie urokliwe zdaje się być samo zakończenie, pełne szmerów i szeptów. Dwie ostatnie części znów szyte są sami drobiazgami, bogacone zaś wyjątkowo rozśpiewanym puzonem, który chwilami tanecznie podryguje. Finał płyty eksploduje urodą. Każdy dokłada tu niespodziewany dźwięk czy frazę, a całość pnie się ku górze nie bez improwizacji czynionych metodą call & responce. Andrzej Nowak (Trybuna Muzyki Spontanicznej)

Une constante des productions Creative Sources d’Ernesto Rodrigues, patron du label et superbe (violoniste) altiste consiste en une rencontre avec des improvisateurs – trices engagés-ées parmi les moins « visibles » / « notoires » dans le but de créer et partager un univers sonore bien défini dans une grande liberté collective et beaucoup d’empathie. Très souvent, son fils Guilherme Rodrigues, un fabuleux violoncelliste, l’assiste avec une complémentarité proverbiale, souvent avec d’autres musiciens à cordes frottées, mais aussi un pianiste, un saxophoniste ou un électronicien. On ne compte plus leurs très nombreux albums et celui-ci fait partie de ceux dont l’auditeur a envie de remettre dans le lecteur, tant l’ensemble et chacun de ses membres posent des questions et trouve des réponses subtiles ou inattendues. Une forme de multi-dialogue pluridimensionnel où de nombreux sons, effets de timbre et actions instrumentales engendrent des constructions musicales vivantes et spontanées dont on peut carrément visualiser les contours, les éclairs et les ombres. La vocaliste Ligia Liberatori surgit aux tournants imprévus par petites touches ; les lubies glissantes du tromboniste Davide Piersanti se font l’écho des glissandi et des oscillations des séries harmoniques des deux cordistes Rodrigues merveilleusement complémentaires. Leur talent incontournable pour les formes, les variations mouvantes de celles-ci et la dimension orchestrale (de chambre) de leurs improvisations créent une spirale magique qui propulse leurs deux partenaires en coloristes distingués et en inspirent les menues incartades expressives dans des tourbillons accidentés . Pouvoir s’agréger de la sorte avec cette belle expressivité n’est rien moins que providentiel, ajoutant encore une floche supplémentaire à la saga des Rodrigues et consorts telle qu’elle se développe inlassablement au sein du surprenant catalogue de Creative Sources.
